Library Inspiration

Being the huge bookworm and dork that I am, I was eager to work on this post on modern libraries put together by our editors. Ever since I have dreamed of owning a place of my own, I have also dreamed of my own library room, complete with ceiling-to-floor, wall-to-wall, dark cherry-wood bookshelves. The books located on the highest shelves would absolutely require a stepladder and the room would be decorated with dark-colored, leather furniture, luxurious Persian rugs, and a large reading lamp. I would dream about spending most of my leisure time in the library, reading through old copies of “Wuthering Heights,” or scaling the shelves for a new read. Yes, libraries are inspirational places in themselves for me, which is why I also found the following images useful and inspiring. Google Russia Offices

You haven’t seen them all yet. Google’s Russia Offices in St. Petersburg and Moscow, both designed by Swiss firm, Camenzind Evolution, are as vibrant and exotic as the unique cities they are located in. Similar to AOL’s offices and Pixar’s offices, both of which we have featured here, Google’s spaces include meeting dens that foster employee interaction and game rooms for healthy breaks and recreation time.

Spectacular Penthouse with Sea View in Tel Aviv

This week, we bring you the work of Israeli Architect, Ando-Studio, with their penthouse masterpiece in Tel Aviv, Israel. Note the brick floor finish, the very understated colors (mostly beige, brown and white), and the use of plush in some furniture and rugs. Also not to be ignored are the magnificent glass-paneled doors of the large walk-in closet, and the spacious balcony equipped with outdoor furniture the same color as the ocean right in front of the penthouse.
